 Then we did this listening task:

And it was time to play. Greti chose the story game again.

Jesse and Petra went somewhere. A man cheated them with a diamond. It was lapis. THey went to trace him down and found themselves in a city. There they met Gabriel, he is kind of a star. 

And we met Lucas, from the other team (from EnderCon).

We met some other people too. There was this butcher, who wanted to kill Reuben, but he fought back.

There was a chicken machine. Jesse decided to break it.

Jesse thought it would be a good idea to have a slime block, jumping on that she could reach and break the window of the chicken machine..

The shop was running out of slime balls. For the lime block she needed 9 balls. She got them.

So she was able to jump and break the chicken machine.

The gang went into a basement. It was full of books and potions. And Petra found a flashy but heavy and soft sword.

In a chest they found a skull. They realized that the shady guy was to make a wither. 

He got home!!!

We had a bit of an argument and the guy made an golem.

We had to escape but Lucas was missing, trapped by the golem.

W went to a show with Gabriel, the greatest hero. They thought they could just ask for Gabriel's help. And then the bad guy interrupted the show and released a wither!

Gabriel attached the wither...

The guy wanted the wither to retreat, but it was reluctant. 

Then we threw a potion at the wither, no use...

An we started playing actively.

Story Mod

Today we started playing Minecraft Story Mod.

(Gréti is the only one of my students who seems to understand the game :D)

This is basically a story, like a cartoon, but Gréti can choose what should happen.
So far she and two other friends (Dead Ender Team) entered a building competition called Endercon. Their enemies are the Ocelot Team.

The Dead Enders are building a giant zombie with fireworks. But then one of the enemies starts some lava, and it sets Reuben, the pet pig's enderdragon costume. Reuben runs away. Jesse runs after him, the others stay at the competition.

Jesse finds Reuben, but she gets attacked by zombies and spiders.

Petra comes to help her, also helps her craft an iron sword. They are going back to town over a bridge but they bump into some creepers. They fight, then everyone is falling. Gosh!

They dive into the water.

They are back at Endercon, but the pig is still missing.

Petra and Jesse are becoming sort of friends. Petra says Jesse should look less intimidated.

We did a video quiz about silly cats.
Then started playing MC on my laptop. Gréti didn't like the iron bar fence I had built around her house for her saddled piggy. Hmmm. And we saw my old tripwire trap house.

Then she decided to go to the village. Then she found the villagers' voice annoying, so she left again. An switched into PE, to play survival.

She has got two signs, four bowl, four torches, cow skin, some seeds and dirt blocks, a pickaxe and a sword.

Someone has hit the pickaxe out of her hand in the dark. It must have been an enderman.

Gréti can make a book.

I had three ideas in mind:

discussing Christmas presents

The old photos in the wooden box

Fixing the we-lost-each-other MC problem

Before I even had the chance to present any of my ideas it was already decided: she grabbed my tablet and looked through what apps I had, and she found 100 floors, which we used a while ago.

She was stuck on floor 17, so we went on.

It was the usual listening thing with the non-language things (problem solving, persistence, creativity, etc.)

One floor was especially significant, the one with the colours and the black and white pictures:

Greti was amazing! She just didn't give it up! It was way too fast and difficult for her but she just didn't lose enthusiasm. Next time we'll play a similar game but in real life. I'll show her b/w pictures and she'll have to jump on the relevant colours.

The other floors can also be exploited, we can create descriptions of people who live on that floor, we can use the walkthrough videos too.

Then came the minecraft part. We did multiplayer again playing survival. It was quite funny, though we missed the unlimited inventory we missed a lot...
